Shot Through the Heart and You're to Blame

Shot through the heart and you're to blame, Joe Banner gives the Eagles a bad name, bad name.
Like a recurring bad dream that tightwad, penny pinching, *hole Banner is at it again. For Christ sake can't we get rid of him. Does he have any idea of the loss of leadership from his latest move with B. Dawk, or is it he doesn't care. Doesn't he know that without Brian and his can do attitude we wouldn't made the playoffs. Doesn't he know he just let go the only player to stand up for #5! Too bad it's not reciprocal. I just don't know what goes through that mans head. I know what I like to put through his head an arrow. As a fan these are the worst of times, losing a player who represents the heat and soul of your team is tough to take. I take no solace in the singing of another Andrews because it also signals the possible loss of my other favorite player big John. Lord knows there no leadership other than him on offense. So what we have to look forward to is a heartless soulless team molded in the image of Joe Banner. Andy get a clue or at least grow a pair in the off season. Whose team is it any why?

It's my Fault!

OK it's been a while since I've written and a long time since the Eagles last win. I don't know what their excuse is but mine is I'm superstitious. I didn't want to jinx them. I was afraid to say out loud what I was thinking inside (The Eagles are going to the Super Bowl) . I was afraid the Football Gods would hear me and strike my team down. So although I didn't say it out loud I was thinking and acting on it. I had made reservations for my flight, car rental, and hotel. Got some good rates booking early. The only thing left was to get the elusive Super Bowl ticket, and I was on-line watching every auction and tickets web site. Just aching to push the "Buy it Now" button. But the Football Gods were watching and punished me for my arrogance. Arrogance it's the freaking Cardinals for Pete's sake. Give me a break already. So there you have it. It's my fault and I swear I will never jump the gun again until the next time. Hey when does spring training start is it too early to jump on the Phillies bandwagon?

Be careful of what you wish for

OK I got my belated Christmas present and I can't wait to open it this Sunday. I've been wishing this for a whole year. Another chance to go to the Super Bowl.I have to admit I'm anxious about the game because I never know which team is going to show up. Is it a balanced attack that probes the defense or a pass happy offense that is totally predictable. Only time will tell. I know I'm not the only one who gave up on the Birds. The parking lots around the Linc were full but not as vibrant as usual. The dark clouds that blanketed the sky were as foreboding as the slim cast of regulars at the tailgate party. Many jumped off the band wagon before last weeks win only to scramble back on as the TVs in the parking lot blared each score that borough the Eagles to their current destiny. I know what I really want, another trip to Florida but I'm too scared to say the words out loud. It kills me to have to sweat it out one week at a time, trying to convince myself that the Eagles are worthy of my support. Man I hate being a homer but I'll never change so why worry about it. Instead I wish you all a "Happy New Year" and I'll see you in the parking lot.

Crazy is as Crazy Does

What the hell was Andy thinking! Didn't the last three games teach him anything about a balanced attack? Wasn't it windy enough? Wasn't the receiving corps depleted enough? Wasn't Westbrook healthy enough. What the hell was he thinking? Who gos to the 5 & 10 store when your shopping for a playoff berth? It's just crazy. Here's how Webster defines crazy:full of cracks or flaws: Unsound; also crooked, askew- sound familiar. I know I fit this second part of the definition: Mad (I'm mad as hell about the loss) Insane (why do I yell he's open to the TV), Impractical (I keep buying Eagles gear which I won't wear when they lose), Distracted with desire or excitement (I can't wait for the next game, what a homer). And to think I was feeling bad about creating a Holiday sweatshirt to show my feelings "Ho Ho Ho Andy must Go" embellished with holiday graphics.

Maybe I should include my feelings about Marty Mornhinweg on the back of the shirt. Mmmm something like "Marty Mornhinweg - Crazy is as Crazy does." Or "Prevent Marty in 2009." If I could only rime Mornhiweg. Hey help me out. Send me your best slogan about Marty so I can add it to the back of the shirt.

All I want for Christmas is a Win and a Loss

That's right I'm looking for a loss. Not an Eagles loss mind you but a loss for the Falcons or Bucs. I'm thinking that there is more of a chance that Atlanta will loose this week since they are on the road. But hey I'd accept a loss at home by the Bucs. Notice I'm not even thinking about that win I mentioned, because I think it's a lock. The Eagles are going to beat Washington and set up the biggest game of the year at home against the Cowgirls. It's going to be a big show so get your popcorn ready. Don't sit back. Come down to the game even if you don't have a ticket. There will be plenty of tailgate parties that you can join. Of course you know I'll be at Cav's Eagles Tailgate party but that's just me. Big fun will be had in all the parking lots. Start planning your party today! Better yet come to Cav's and let him do the cooking for you. That's all for now. I want to see you in the parking lot.
